At the 48th edition of Sibiu Jazz Festival, we will meet artists from all over the world who will bring to life, once again, jazz! Four days long, the Big Square in Sibiu will become the core of this incredible music!
If, for almost five decades, the Jazz Festival in Sibiu was a mix of competition and cultural diversity in an established format - last year, Sibiu Jazz Festival has evolved into a new structure. Sibiu Jazz Contest has become a stand-alone identity, being a high level strandard for those in the field and local, national and international artists compete for the grand prize in Sibiu.
On the other hand, Sibiu Jazz Festival has thus become a place to promote multiculturalism and jazz to the general public. This year we continue by keeping the same principle, opening the Romanian scene for the most impotant artists in the field.
Between May 17 to 20, any jazz or cultural lover can enjoy a range of international multiculturalism: Vali Boghean Band (Moldova) Brönnimann Cissokho Hason (Switzerland, Senegal, Israel), VEIN feat. Rick Margitza (Switzerland, USA) Luca Ciarla Quartet (Italy) JazzyBit (Romania), Balázs Quintet Balogh (Hungary) NOJAZZ (France) and Befunkbop (Spain).
Also, a new element for this edition comes along with the participation of Pol Belardi's Force (Luxembourg) - Sibiu Jazz Competition winners in 2017, but also the participation of Balázs Quintet Balogh (Hungary) – winners of SJC in 2016.
